The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin series is a partnership between IMSA, Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and Porsche Cars Canada Ltd. (PCL), as well as Michelin Canada continuing its partnership with International Motor Sports Association and Porsche Cars Canada (PCL). The partnership was formed to further the relationship between race car drivers and the IMSA series in Canada.
After three seasons of being instated the Canada GT3 series grew from a field of seven cars to a challenging field of over 20 cars. The series is noted for its competitve gentleman atmsphere. The series continues to grow today with the addition of young gun drivers looking to compete at the next level.
The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin will be contested exclusively in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car – one of the world’s most successful race cars. Developed for Porsche one-make cups worldwide, the 911 GT3 Cup car is based on the production 911 GT3 RS road car. Its engine is largely identical to the production engine of the 911 GT3 RS, with the same output of 450 bhp and the same maximum engine speed of 8,500 rpm.
